Anja, Anniek, Eric, Josephina, Julie, Kristel, Micheline and Peter captured themselves and their surroundings in photographs. Some of them experience the world without colour, others see it partially, vaguely, or not at all. They also see with other senses and with their memories. This makes their view of the world unique. The eight photographers posed vulnerably to discover that photography and art belong to them too.<\/p>\n

From physical limitations to opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n

From Image to Imagination depicts a process of people confronting a social belief that photography and being partially sighted or blind do not mix.<\/p>\n

In this story, people thought in terms of opportunities rather than limitations. Barriers were removed, boundaries were pushed back and self-esteem and talents were (re)discovered. In a society that still too often assumes \u201ccan do no more\u201d, the photographers found a place again.<\/p>\n

World Unseen – the photo exhibition you don’t need to see<\/strong><\/p>\n

Images have the power to initiate the change we want to see in our society. Photographer Lieve Blancquaert has captured a series of fascinating and moving stories with \u2018We are Europe\u2019. Canon believes it is important that everyone can experience the power of these.<\/p>\n

Worldwide, there are millions of visually impaired people for whom the experience of photography remains inaccessible. For them, it is not obvious that a picture says more than a thousand words. With World Unseen, Canon is changing this. This exhibition makes photography accessible to blind and visually impaired people. With tactile relief prints, Braille and audio descriptions, we open up a world where everyone should be able to experience the power of images.<\/p>\n

We are Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

With ”We are Europe”, Lieve Blancquaert has captured what Europe looks like today. She has done this through personal stories, but also by portraying major current issues. What are the challenges faced by people in the European Union and what, on the contrary, can we be proud of? An impressive journey through today’s Europe.<\/p>\n
