The International Photography Festivals Association (IPFA)<\/strong>\u00a0aspires to be a global network uniting more than\u00a01.000 photography festivals<\/strong> existing in the world. Their goal is to establish this association to foster collaboration, innovation, and professionalization within the photography festival community. <\/span>This initiative\u00a0aims to provide a platform where directors, curators, producers, and artists can elevate their festivals through networking, knowledge sharing and best practices<\/strong>.     The International Photography Festivals Association (IPFA) invites photographers and artists from all over the world to take part in the IPFA Award. This open call goes beyond a traditional prize; it is an international platform to explore, share and transform contemporary photography, connecting photographers with festivals, curators and audiences worldwide. From your images to the world: join this global movement of photography festivals.<\/p>\n

    Your work will have the opportunity to be seen by directors and curators of photography festivals around the globe, expanding your visibility and international reach. With a single application, your project will be reviewed by 20 international curators. You may be selected for a solo exhibition at a participating festival or take part in a collective exhibition opening on 19 March 2026 in Barcelona, which will later travel to various festivals.<\/p>\n

    With no fixed theme, we welcome projects of any style or approach, including contemporary, documentary, social, urban and street, analogue, nature and wildlife, or creative and experimental photography. Each project will be evaluated by a jury composed of representatives from 20 photography festivals, ensuring diversity of perspectives and selection criteria. Submissions will be assessed for originality, innovation, visual coherence, narrative strength and international projection potential.<\/p>\n

    Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Alle 20 curatoren selecteren ieder \u00e9\u00e9n deelnemend fotoproject voor een solotentoonstelling op het festival dat zij vertegenwoordigen.<\/p>\n

    Op basis van hun stemmen worden daarenboven 50 fotografen geselecteerd die mogen deelnemen aan een reizende groepstentoonstelling die start op 19 maart 2026 in Barcelona en daarna te gast zal zijn op meerdere festivals die lid zijn van de IPFA.<\/p>\n

    Bovendien worden de 20 geselecteerde kunstenaars en 50 finalisten opgenomen in het IPFA Photographers Repository, dat is opgezet om hun werk te promoten en hen in contact te brengen met curatoren en festivals over de hele wereld. Ze krijgen ook korting op portfoliobeoordelingen en toegang tot conferenties tijdens de 2e Internationale Bijeenkomst van Fotografie Festivals in Barcelona (juli 2026), waardoor hun werk meer internationale bekendheid krijgt.<\/p>\n

    Jureringscriteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Open thema:<\/strong> Deelnemers kunnen projecten over elk onderwerp indienen. We zijn op zoek naar voorstellen die de creativiteit, persoonlijke visie en artistieke toewijding van elke fotograaf of beeldend kunstenaar weerspiegelen. Kunstenaars mogen meer dan \u00e9\u00e9n project indienen, waaronder werken die verschillende thema’s, technieken en benaderingen verkennen.<\/p>\n

    Diversiteit aan perspectieven:<\/strong> De jury bestaat uit vertegenwoordigers van festivals die gespecialiseerd zijn in verschillende gebieden van de fotografie, waaronder hedendaagse fotografie, natuur- en wildlifefotografie, documentairefotografie, stads- en straatfotografie, analoge en vintagefotografie, en creatieve en experimentele fotografie. Dit zorgt ervoor dat elk project vanuit verschillende invalshoeken en gevoeligheden wordt beoordeeld.<\/p>\n

    Beoordelingscriteria:<\/strong> Projecten worden beoordeeld op originaliteit, narratieve kracht, visuele samenhang, innovatie en experiment, en hun potentieel voor internationale bekendheid. Er wordt ook rekening gehouden met de technische kwaliteit van het werk en het vermogen om een band met het publiek te cre\u00ebren. Bij de selectie van de 50 finalisten houdt de jury ook rekening met diversiteit van herkomst, genderevenwicht en verscheidenheid aan fotografische thema’s. Gelijke kansen: Alle portfolio’s worden tegelijkertijd door alle aangesloten festivals beoordeeld, zodat elk ingediend project evenveel kans maakt om geselecteerd te worden, ongeacht het thema of de stijl.<\/p>\n
