Opening Ceremony
Sunday 8 June 2025, was the official opening day of the 5th edition of Lens op de Mens – Photo Festival Pelt.
We warmly welcomed all photographers, contributors, volunteers, jury members, sponsors and partners to CC Palethe.
The presentation was in the hands of Carmen van den Akker.
Presentation of the Awards
During this festive opening ceremony, the coveted Awards of Lens op de Mens 2025 were presented. This unforgettable moment was led by our festival president Carine Van Gerven, together with competition jury president Johan Brouwers.

Stijn Meuris
To conclude the awards ceremony, Stijn Meuris draged us into a captivating story. In his characteristic style, he gave a quirky take on one of the winning photos of Lens op de Mens 2025 and revealed the stories behind the image.

The musical accompaniment to this festive occasion was passionately provided by Johan Thaens. He brought his unique musical vision to life, inspired by some of the winning pictures.
