Belgian Photo Awards 2025 | Urban Jungle
In the hallway of service centre Pelle Melle, we will show you the award-winning photos from the “Urban Jungle” category of the Belgian Photo Awards 2025.
This competition is an initiative of professionalphotographers.be in the context of the official mastery competitions from the Cabinet of Work, Middle Classes and SMEs.
The Belgian Photo Awards honours the best that Belgian professional photography has to offer. This competition brings together photographers from all corners of the country, showcasing work that seamlessly interweaves traditional craftsmanship with contemporary creative imagery. From portrait to reportage, conceptual art to fashion: in 11 categories, we celebrate the power of the image, the eye of the creator, and the talent in Belgian photography.
Welcome to the Urban Jungle
Urban Jungle, think busy streets and people on the move, or the mix of green and concrete. Life in an urban jungle can be hectic and unpredictable, with constant change and the need to adapt quickly to new situations.
It is a melting pot of cultures, ideas and lifestyles. This diversity makes for a rich palette of experiences, but also requires deft handling of diverse social dynamics and interactions.
Big cities can feel like a competitive environment, where you have to prove yourself amid fierce competition and challenges – similar to animals in the jungle fighting for survival.
In this category, all that concrete gets a soul and creativity breathes new life into the city.
Antonella Buonsenso, Johan Cré, Kurt Descheemaeker, Jürgen de Witte, Lieven Geuns, Lief Keuppens, Filip Meutermans, Isabel Mombaerts, Stéphane Opdenbosch, Igor van de Poel, Kaatje Verschoren, Yannig van de Wouwer.
