Companion videos

QR-code Youtube LodM

Following on from previous editions of Lens op de Mens, we would like to once again add video clips that tell the story of the photographer and his photos.
All authors of the exhibited photos may send in a video in which they give a concise explanation of their photo(s) and possibly introduce themselves briefly.

All photos for which an accompanying video exists will receive a QR code which makes it possible to watch this video on a mobile phone or tablet.

For now, you can watch some videos from 2023 via this link. We hope it will be another nice added value to the festival.

  • video format: preferably MP4
  • the videos submitted may have a maximum duration of 120 seconds
  • for copyright reasons, no music may be heard or added in the videos

  • of the video itself
  • of all photos shown in the video

Right of use by Lens Op De Mens – Fotofestival Pelt vzw

The intention is for the videos to be used to provide a brief explanation about an image, a series of images and/or the author of the images in question. Therefore, a QR code will be placed with each exhibited photo, of which a corresponding video also exists, allowing the video to be viewed on a mobile phone or tablet.

By his/her submission, the photographer/submitter grants the explicit permission to the non-profit organisation Lens op de Mens – Fotofestival Pelt to publish the videos.

By his/her submission, the photographer/submitter also grants the right to the non-profit organisation Lens Op De Mens – Fotofestival Pelt to use the submitted videos for the promotion of the international photo festival Lens op de Mens.

The festival has the right to add an intro to the clips to achieve uniformity between all the videos.

Tips and trics

Videoclip
  • say something about your selected photo(s), that’s what we really like to see
  • always film in horizontal mode when filming with your mobile phone
  • do not film with the light of a window in the background
  • don’t make it an advert for your company, that’s not the intention
  • introduce yourself briefly, no life story, no long list of your educations, etc.
  • make sure your mobile phone or camera does not move
  • put your mobile phone or camera on something stable or use a (table) tripod
  • the selfie position with outstretched arm is not recommended
  • choose a calm background without distracting bright coloured areas
  • keep clutter out of the picture
