RPS – Royal Photographic Society | Benelux Chapter members’ print exhibition
The Royal Photographic Society had its inaugural meeting in 1853 and is one of the world’s oldest photographic societies.
The RPS is a worldwide community of thousands of people who love photography and who believe in its importance as an artistic, scientific and expressive medium. Our regional hubs, international Chapters and specialists Groups are all led by volunteers, working with the staff team.
Our Vision: We envision a world where everyone is inspired, empowered and educated in the art and of the science of photography.
Our Mission: We will bring inspiration, creativity and connection, through photography to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Our strategy cherishes existing and much-loved features of RPS membership, such as Distinctions (which enjoy worldwide respect); Exhibitions (including the International Photography Exhibition, now in its 166th edition); the award-winning RPS Journal; RPS Awards; and our far-reaching Education programmes.
The Benelux Chapter has 42 members, we host Zoom meetings every second month, as well as holding physical meet ups every other second month where we work towards Distinctions and where we discuss our photo projects. We organise regular meet ups which can be ‘walk about’s’, weekends away and various workshops.
Our group is fully international and we all communicate in English. If you are interested in joining us, please contact the Chapter Organiser: Carol Olerud FRPS by email beneluxnl@rps.org.
For membership please email: membership@rps.org.

Benelux Chapter members’ print exhibition
The RPS Benelux Chapter is extremely happy and proud to show its Members’ Print Exposition here in Pelt during this 2025 Festival.
We have selected 25 photos on the theme of ‘Human Vulnerability’ which was our Spring Challenge.
Participating photographers: Annemarie Jung, Armando Jongejan FRPS, Astrid Preisz, Carol Olerud FRPS, Cobi Neeft ARPS, Felicity Handford, Gerry Phillipson ARPS, Jan Ros ARPS, Joaquim Capitao, Katherine Maguire ARPS, Kim Bybjerg LRPS, Madeleine Lenagh, Minke Groenewoud Beerda, Sue Goldberg LRPS, Ton van der Laan LRPS.
The Distinctions programme is an award scheme at three different levels. You will see the letters LRPS, ARPS and FRPS next to some of the members names in the exposition. These individuals have achieved a level of recognition for their work from the Society and can therefore use the qualification letters after their name.
