This awards show launches the fifth international photo festival ‘Lens op de Mens’ in Pelt with the exhibition route through the streets and squares of Overpelt-Centre and guest exhibitions at Arts Centre A-block in the former TIO, CC Palethe and the former Library, Service Centre Pelle Melle and St Martin’s Church..

World-class guest photographer Stefano De Luigi with his project Blanco, a photo series on blind people
Stefano De Luigi (Cologne, 1964) Italian. Lives in Paris, where he worked for the Louvre Museum as photographer from 1989 to 1996.
He has published 7 books: Pornoland (Thames & Hudson 2004), Blanco (Trolley2010), iDyssey (Edition Bessard 2017), Babel with artist Michela Battaglia (Postcart Edition 2018), Pornoland redux (self published 2021), Il Bel Paese (L’Artiere 2023), Televisiva (L’Artiere 2024).
Among many awards he won 4 times the World Press Photo (1998-2007-2010-2011), the Eugene Smith Fellowship Grant (2008), the Getty Grant for editorial photography and Days Japan (2010), Syngenta prize (2015), Bourse a la creation du Centre National Cinéma (2018) France, Planches Contact artistic residency Deauville (2021), Strategie fotografiche grant Minister of Culture Italy (2022).
He has worked with several international publications such as New Yorker, Geo, Paris Match, Stern, Internazionale.
Stefano has exhibited his work in New York, Washington, Paris, Geneva, Milan, Rome, London, Belgrad, Istanbul, Athens, among others.
Stefano De Luigi is a contributing photographer and educator at VII Foundation since 2008.
